Wood Imitations: Laminate Flooring
The laminate floors are a formed product by particles of pressed wood to create a board, to which he hits a printed photographic paper of an image, which can be a photo of wood, ceramics, marble … and finally are applied resins hardeners that, depending on the number of layers, give it a different degree of resistance.
Thanks to photographic and printing techniques, his drawings perfectly imitate woods and confuse the consumer. Its drawback is the difficulty of possible repairs, since a specific model may not be available on the market for a long time.
Its main characteristics are:
- Visual appearance that imitates wood.
- Different degrees of resistance depending on the number of layers of hardening resins applied to them.
- The price of these floors is lower than any other type of wood. The industry has achieved that parquet has become a common element in the decoration of homes.
- It can be installed on existing flooring, provided it is level.
